NOTICIA Nominaciones de los Premios Eisner 2019

La Comic-Con International ha revelado la lista completa de nominados para los Premios Eisner de 2019, donde participan los trabajos publicados entre el 1 de enero y el 31 de diciembre de 2018, que son elegidos por un panel de expertos. Este año hay un total de 31 categorías, reflejando la amplia gama de material que se publica actualmente. Compiten más de 170 obras, de más de 50 editoriales distintas, con artistas de todo el mundo, en los diversos formatos, desde grapas hasta novelas gráficas.

La editorial Image cuenta con más nominaciones en las distintas categorías, confirmando el gran trabajo que lleva realizando en los últimos años. Es la primera vez en la historia de los Eisners que una editorial ocupa todos los títulos en la categoría de Mejor Serie Nueva. Destacan las obras ‘Get Naked’ de Steven Seagle (con 3 nominaciones) o ‘Isola’ de Brenden Fletcher y de Karl Kerschl (con 2 nominaciones), ‘My Brickers of My Heroes’ de Ed Brubaker y Sean Phillips (2 nominaciones), y ‘Twisted Romance’ de Alex de Campi (2 nominaciones). En total Image ha obtenido 19 nominaciones.

En segundo lugar está DC con 17 nominaciones, destacando el trabajo de Tom King y Mitch Gerads por su serie limitada ‘Mister Miracle’ con 4 nominaciones, ‘Eternity Girl’ ha obtenido 2 nominaciones, ‘MAD’ y ‘Exit Stage Left’ tienen 2, y ‘Batman’ está nominada en Mejor Serie Regular.

La editorial IDW y Lion Forge han obtenido 10 nominaciones cada una, First Second 9 nominaciones, Marvel y Dark Horse 7 nominaciones y ¡BOOM! 5 nominaciones.

El artista con más nominaciones ha sido Tom King con un total de 5, participando en las categorías de Mejor Relato Corto por el especial de invierno de ‘Swamp Thing’, Mejor Serie Regular por ‘Batman’, Mejor Serie Limitada por ‘Mister Miracle’, Mejor Álbum Gráfico Reeditado por ‘The Hardcover de The Vision’ y a Mejor Guionista.

Alex Compi y Jeff Lemire han obtenido 4 nominaciones cada uno. Alex Compi está nominado en las categorías de Mejor Álbum Gráfico Nuevo por ‘Bad Girls’, Mejor Antología por ‘Twisted Romance’, Mejor Guionista y Mejor Escritura. Las nominaciones de Jeff Lemire han sido en las categorías de Mejor Numero Único por ‘Black Hammer: Cthu-Louise’, Mejor Serie rRegular por ‘Black Hammer: Age of Doom’, Mejor Serie Nueva por ‘Gideon Falls’ y Mejor Escritor.

En el apartado de obras, además de ‘Isola’, ‘Mister Miracle’ y ‘Get Naked’ que han sido las más nominadas, destacan con 3 nominaciones ‘Watersnakes’ de Tony Sandoval y ‘A Sea of Love’ de Wilfrid Lupano y Grégory Panaccione, títulos de las editoriales Lion Forge y Magnetic Press respectivamente.

Por último, destacar también entre los nominados el impactante último número de ‘Spectacular Spider-Man’ de Chip Zdarsky en la categoría de Mejor Numero Único.

Este año el panel de jueces de los Premios Eisner 2019 lo componen el periodista de cómics Chris Arrant (Newsarama), el académico / autor Jared Gardner (Universidad Estatal de Ohio), la bibliotecaria Traci Glass (sistema de bibliotecas del Condado de Multnomah en Portland, Oregón), la minorista Jenn Haines (The Dragon, Guelph y Milton, Ontario, Canadá), el crítico Steven Howearth (Pop Culture Maven) y la creadora de cómics Jimmie Robinson (CyberZone, Amanda & Gunn, Bomb Girl).

La votación para los premios se realiza en línea y estará disponible en www.eisnervote.com. Todos los profesionales de la industria del cómic podrán votar hasta el próximo 14 de junio. Los resultados de la votación se anunciarán en una ceremonia de entrega de premios la noche del viernes 19 de julio que tendrá lugar en el hotel Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
